Cholera is an acute, diarrheal illness caused by infection of 'Vibrio Cholerae' in the intestine and without treatment, death can occur within hours.(2) The infection is often asymptomatic, but can sometimes be severe. Symptoms of severe cases includes constant watery diarrhea, vomiting, and leg cramps. Symptoms of severe cases includes constant watery diarrhea, vomiting, and leg cramps.(2) I believe that Africa is the continent that has been the most affected by Cholera according to the graph shown on the World Health Organization’s website, which depicts the continent of Africa making up 54% of worldwide cases that were reported in 2016.
